Boys Over Flowers

*giggle*

When I think of the drama "Boys Over Flowers" a sort of excitement and happy thoughts flew past. For one, who could ever resist the 4 young and drop dead good looking guys? Honestly speaking, not me! It's been so long... way too long since I last watched something worth hunting and addicted over. Back then, every Monday and Tuesday evening were meaningful and I'd avoid leaving the office after 8pm (scared later jam and I'm late, thus missing the show). And when it finished, Mondays and Tuesdays felt boring... and dreadfully long.

A friend was with me one day when I watched one of the episodes. She didn't really liked it, especially the main character - Gu Jun Pyo, played by Lee Min Ho. He's a pretty violent guy who would trash stuffs, even his car, when his temper flare. Interestingly though he's violent, most of us still couldn't resist falling in love with him... same goes for the lead actress, Geum Jandi played by Goo Hye Sun. My friend was like, "OMG how could you (all) like him?!" and I told her, "He's hot, tall and rich."

If you think I'm into Lee Min Ho, think again. The one whom I truly like is actually Yun Ji Hoo, played by ss501 leader - Kim Hyun Joong. You know, it's a funny thing. In the beginning when he first appeared, I don't really like him! He looks... well, kinda feminime and just isn't appealing enough. Plus, he's annoying when he was so-called in love with the model whom he grew up with. His attitude towards Jandi surely wasn't nice.

Then he started to change. Soon after that, his changes became more and more obvious and we get to see the gentle side of Ji Hoo... and yes, his tragic past as well. Afterwards, he even had a hair cut which drove me maaaaad with loooooooveeeeee!!! I'm telling the truth, he suddenly became such a sweetheart and so totally irresistible!

Ah crap, some stupid ppl juz call up my office and colleague passed the line over. He asked whether we sell some sort of powder sauce and I told him no, we sell in finished goods (that powder sauce thingy is part of the raw mat we use). Then he went like, no no no, juz want to know whether we supply that. And I replied again, saying we don't sell that - we only sell finished goods. He was rude and loud on the phone, I was already patient with him. After that he started accusing me of being rude and that he juz wants to know the simple answer to the simple question and that I made it complicated for him. I was like... I know some ppl are unreasonable. But unreasonable up to this stage I really can't believe it! I asked him back whether I sounded rude, and he didn't answer. I proceed to tell him he's the one that's aggravating and then he just slammed the phone. Well F him. Good luck in finding your supplier. He spoilt my mood, that's for sure.

Anyway back to the topic! Ji Hoo is much more gentler and cares for Jandi's feelings. He would not take her by force nor do anything that would hurt her. Junpyo's the exact opposite. He's forceful, fierce and although he never meant to hurt her, he did on some occasions. Ji Hoo was Jandi's first love but in the end she lets go because she understood that she could never have his heart (he likes the model at that time). It was heart wrenching >__<

Shall we move to the other F4 members? Oooh let's talk bout So Yi Jeong (Kim Bum)! He is such a darling!!! With that babyface of his, I couldn't possibly imagine ANY women who won't melt looking at him! Aaaaaw~ I kept imagining his cute smile, and both him + Woo Bin (the other F4, played by Kim Joon) likes to toy with Jun Pyo occasionally.

Last but not least is Woo Bin! Well... I feel kinda guilty. In the very beginning, I liked him the least. Reason being... he's not that good looking and I wondered why he was picked to assume the role as one of the F4. Then I continued to watch. Slowly I began to accept him (he's funny and cute in some ways too) and noticed that he's really nice guy! At the same time he also has some complex within. An inferiority in comparison with his 3 other friends.

Basically he's the mafia's son and he doesn't care what other ppl says, but he cares what his friends think of him. That was so touching!!! He was walking at the edge of a river (I think) one night with a lot of sadness bottled up. Yi Jeong was with him and the he was worried sick that Woo Bin might fall off. He asked and even demanded his friend to come down but Woo Bin was pouring out his sadness that he's not in par with the rest and that he's afraid that they look down on him. Yi Jeong told him that it's impossible because if they do, they would not befriend him in the very begininng.

One reason I really love the Korean version of BOF is that they give a lot of exposure and details on other characters. Although the leads are Jandi and Junpyo, the story also focuses on Ji Hoo and Yi Jeong's past. They might come from a glamourous and rich family, but no one could truly understand what they went through. Same goes for Junpyo. There were less stuffs about Woo Bin but nonetheless we know that he's very loyal to his friends and would do anything to help them.

I don't know who compiled the chart above but I'd like to credit him/ her for the effort. This chart saves all our trouble trying to remember who plays what version as whom. Simply said, out of all the live action I've watched, I would say that the Korean version was the most enjoyable (for me, that is). The japanese version wasn't too bad, except for the casting of Jun Matsumoto as the main character. Though his acting was convincing enough, the role wasn't suitable for him. The feeling's like the main character is lacking something~

The Taiwan version's cast ain't half bad. But sorry, their acting was kinda off... And I simply couldn't understand how I managed to watch through the series several years back O.O

Talk about the plot... two thumbs up for Korean's Boys Over Flowers because of the character exposure. Though they ran from the original plot, I'd like to salute them for giving 'life' to the other minor roles. We get to see Ji Hoo @ Akira's background, grievances and regret. We also know that Yi Jeong @ Soujirou's pain, hatred towards his father and all the burden he carried. Best of all, we finally realized that the oh-so-cool and hip Woo Bin @ Akira actually felt inferior compared to his friends... and he was actually depressed at the thought that they might look down on him. I find that scene really touching as it touches on the friendship they shared.

Another thing I like about the story is how the main character - Geum Jandi actually became "friends" with F4. It's no longer due to Junpyo that they meet up with her... she's like part of their group, whether or not she's still his gf. Remember the part Jandi moved out and the other F3 + Gaeul came to give her house a makeover? Yes, that's what I was talking about. Even if Junpyo and Jandi broke up, she's still their friend. And if she ever needed anything, she could always rely on the others (and it's not limited to Ji Hoo) for help, if not Junpyo.

Hmmmmm nyum~ did I mention that Kim Joon was from T-Max? I think I did *gloat* Yes, I have gotten addicted over this group and it's all thanks to Park Yun Hwa.

Park Yun Hwa
Yes, he's got this baby face look but no... it's not because of his appearance that I like him nor the group. It's because of his voice. When I listen to songs, I don't really focus on the singer's voice (>__< I know!) but this time it's different!!! It seems like I can't survive a day without Yun Hwa's voice coz I'll miss it sooooo much! OMG IS THIS LOVE?!>

T-Max consists of Shin Min Chul and also Kim Joon. Min Chul also possesses a good voice and it's inescapable. I can imagine his voice right now. It's loud with a little hoarse and easily recognizable. If you ask me, I'd say most of T-Max's songs you can hear Min Chul's voice most often, followed by Yun Hwa *eyes turned into heart shape* and lastly Kim Joon. Not sure why but Joon doesn't sing much... he usually rap tho hehe.

Yes yes yes yes yes, go and purchase Boys Over Flower's OST 1, 2 and 2.5 coz they are all damn good!!! My biggest addiction is "Fight the Bad Feeling" or "Nappeun Maeumeul Meokgehae". I can't stop listening/ playing the song... and I think I've been listening to it everyday for at least 2 weeks (yet I'm not tired over it yet!)!!!

Okay that's all for the updates this time... going home to grab a piece of cake for my mum (her b-day y'day) and then catch "The Slingshot" on KBS tonight!!! The drama's getting more exciting and I can't wait to see more stunts between Kim Shin and Jamie. They are such a freaking funny pair!!!

Good Ol' Uni Days!

Saturday... work... Sigh...

Today (Sat!) around 9.40am I suddenly received an unexpected sms. Isaac Yong said he's having a CNY party with his friends and asked whether I can to join. He said the party starts at 10am today itself. I was like, WHAT?! Who issues an invitation 20min before the party starts?! I mean, I'm not staying across his house or something!!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee and dat invite reminds me of a trick email he sent to me before. Dat email's title is BBQ Party Invitation and inside the mail are details of the event - date, location, dress code, theme etc. Then, it says that the map to his house is attached in the ppt slide. So when you open the attachment, you'll see that it says his house is actually a floating hotel in Bali or something like dat... and a plane will come pick you up at some designated spot. You don't get it? It's a BOGUS!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yah well, I actually thought it was for real~ aaaaaaaargh geramnya!

Anyhow, it's nice to hear from an old friend. I miss those times back in University... there's Rebecca who always wait for us to finish class and we'd go for lunch, or sometimes merely spend time in our cafetaria chatting over nothing. Of course, my classmates like Ronnie, Wilson and Janice~ And then there's Zhen Loong, Nabil, Hindy and Jimmy in one gang... they are a truly funny group because I'd laugh non stop at their jokes, esp the way they treat each other. Not forgetting - Isaac and gang. They are actually my seniors (coz they came in 1 semester earlier than me), but I don't know them till 1 year later I think. I usually go home late and I'd bump into Isaac very often (coz he also always go back late) in either the Computer Lab or Library. He don't talk much (initially!) but we always say "Hi" and "Bye" coz I knew Siang Yee, Isaac's friend.

But after about 2 years in KDU, and some of us shares the same subjects - we all started to mingle around more often. Funnily, even though the few of us flew to Perth together, Isaac don't really join our group often. Ah well, in the end I know what's the reason *shrugged* can't tell ya though!

Then - few months back, Hindy said he couldn't stop by Malaysia due to some prob with his visa... previously he promised to stop by, and I'd even told him I'll take leave (if it's not a weekened) to meet up with him & the rest before he flies back to Indon. Reason is, I didn't get to catch up with him before he flew back, so I thought maybe this time I can see him. Luck's not on our side... So I sms Zhen Loong and asked him what happened. He called me instead, and explained the situation. Then we update each other on what the rest of our classmates/ seniors/ juniors are currently doing. Apparently a lot of Murdoch-ians are working in banks!

He's such a joker, saying that I should also join them all in the banking industry. I said, NO. Not interested! Banking has never been much interest to me. As a matter of fact, I hate going to the bank. I don't enjoy the notion of taking a number and queuing for hours before your turn to do something. Bah, hate banks.

Oh wait, I missed out the other seniors... We have Lee Hua, Kendy, Suh Hua, Janet, Nai Lin, Kah Yen, Aaron, Sze Ee, Nisha, Faizal, Benjamin, Han Cai, Alex, Joon Kit and few others. It's so much fun to have them around because they made the class interesting with occasional jokes. They are also smart, and we have no problem referring to them when needed XD

Neway all in all, I sincerely wish everyone the best. Though we've all walked a different path I hope to cross path with them someday!

Chinese New Year 2009!

Hey, it's CNY and whooooosh, it's over.

Flew by so fast eh... and yes, counting back the days, I've joined my current company for 2 months already. And you couldn't imagine how nice it felt to have finally escaped the horror of working in my previous comp. Good thing my new company isn't too far off from my ex-comp, so I still have lunch with some of my ex-colleagues. They're a fun bunch and I enjoy chatting with them.

Nothing much to comment bout new company. I love my job (though there are aspects that I feel is the downside of it) but I'm receiving constant pressure as well. It's a fast industry and there's no time to dilly-dally. There's just so much work to be done!!!

Oh wait, I didn't post the CF pix here ^^; ah well... hehe wait till my laptop's fixed. Something spoilt and my uncle had to bring it to Singapore to get it fixed (he's donna DIY).

In any case, I hope this year is a good year for career advancement and networking. My aim is to meet more people and get connected in many ways. I think I'm lacking the charm of talking more boldly. Gotta fix that part of me... Can't be shy or too introvert, otherwise I can't get to know these people.

FMCG's fun and challenging. Great people to meet, key people to talk to and constant changes made us jump. And we have to be aware of competitors very often.

Yesterday I was at MPH and Popular. Bought some magazines... and when I browse through the bookshelf, I found so many books I wanted to buy. They are about branding, or other more in-depth marketing books which I'm dying to read. But they are all so so so expensive!!! I'll have to buy one after another slowly, and that's what I couldn't stand. Grrrrrr everything's about money!

Ah well... dat's part n parcel of life.

Last Friday I went to Momo at Centro with my colleagues. Nice environment and pretty good food, except I don't eat sashimi, sushi and the likes (u get the picture!). There's some pix that my colleague uploaded in Facebook (haven't transfer mine yet) ^__________^ hehe some really fun moments and *yippie* there's WINE!!! I drank two glasses... and for a minute I was pretty worried about driving home later. Thankfully I'm sober all the way XD

Disappointed

Well... i'm very disappointed with someone today. I just believe that you'll need 2 hands to clap...
In any case, I don't want to think about it anymore. The only thing I like about my office is my colleagues and nothing more.

Frust! So What?

Very often, as young people - we pen down out thoughts and feelings. Without a doubt, we do that in Facebook, Friendster, blog, MSN etc etc. It's out freedom to write what we want without society scrutiny. Reason being we have to behave in a socially accepted manner in work and outside (well at home too!). And often things get very frustrationg. At least I get frustrated. I hate all those rules and what not. Worst of all, I'm getting more frust as I am moving soon. There's high tension at home coz there's a whole lot more to be done than you can ever imagine. Plus, there's also another part of my live that's pretty upside down so I'm getting worked-up in some other aspect of my live.

My story is this: as I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my surroundings, I just write "=.= frust frust frust!" in the comment box of my gmail chat. Then when I get in my boss's office for him to sign stuffs, he said to me, "Why frust? You said in your gmail frust. Don't get frustrated." so I said, "Well, I'm moving soon and there's a lot to be done. I'm just getting a bit frustrated with things." To which he replied, "Don't get frust because of that. A lot of people don't have homes to live." Wow that moment, something surge inside me. I really want to ask him, "Right, if that's the case why don't you donate 50% of your money to the homeless and build houses for them instead of buying a villa that costs you millions? And don't you know that amount of money can do more use to society than your own comfort?" See, if you think you are SO into society and all, just go ahead and do it. Don't lecture me coz you don't have the right. Who are you again? I forgot.

Good thing I held my tongue but he got so irritatingly naggy and kept stressing "don't frust because of things like this". In the back of my head, I'm like - well I guess he doesn't know he's part of the reason I'm getting frust. And heck, it didn't help with that attitude. Right, what I'm saying is that, don't talk to someone like you know them. He doesn't know my situation at home and what happens, so don't talk like you DO. Get me? It gets annoyingly irritating when someone speaks as though they are the GURU that understand everybody's family situation and we gotta listen to your preachings. Get a life and stay out of mine.

I hate busybodies... No, if you're a friend, I'm more than happy to listen or get comments from you. It's just that when an outsider cross the line, it's not funny anymore. It's trespassing on your privacy.
