Over the Rainbow

Here we go again (?). I'm hooked into both Japanese and Korean dramas. I watched a little here and there of Smile Again but when it ended last week (and the new K-drama started yesterday nite), I was smitten by "Over the Rainbow" ... I really really love their dance moves, especially the main female cast--Kim Ok Bin (she should be the the leading actress--second from right, in jeans). I liked how she moved her body and no doubt, her character. The protagonist, Ji Hyun Woo, is also a sweetie :D he's cute and *hem* has a good b-o-d-y. If you look carefully, he resembles Rain a little (perhaps not so in the picture above). I'm looking forward to more of his groovy dance moves and how he'll be doing his "Nike" step (where they split their legs and focus on the side). Anyway I believe she got him interested in dancing!!!

On the right side of the picture, we have Hwan Hee or Fany dressed in blue. He's actually one of the member of the Kpop group--Fly to the Sky. Nicknamed as King of R&B, he's really cool and had a role in both modeling and acting apart from singing.

The story revolves around three main characters--Heok Ju (Ji Hyun Woo), Hee-Su (Kim Ok Bin) and Lex (Hwan Hee). Heok Ju's a troublemaker in school and was often given detentions. One day during a fight he injured a schoolmate who's due to take part in the district dance competition. And because of this, he was made to take part in it in place of the injured guy. Even so, Heok-Ju had never danced before and didn't have anyone to teach him, not till he met Hee-Su. Hee-Su who's the daughter of a priest and just came back from a foreign country had no place to stay. The place that Heok Ju and his family's currently staying used to be rented by Hee-Su's friend who left. She rented a room there in the end after a misunderstanding involving some money.

The series unfolds the journey of these 3 person who's passionate about dancing as well as the trials and turbulations they stumbled upon in striving to be a popular star. The entertainment business, though promises fame and money, may not be what it seems.

I'll scream if Heok-Ju and Hee-Su doesn't get together. They make such a nice pair... but from the many pictures I saw, the possibility of Heok Ju and Sang-Mi together is higher. Again, I believe I will stop watching if that's true =__= coz its unsightly for the eyes. Though Hee-Su and Lex also makes a good pair, I'd prefer the first pairing.

I hate the fact that I need to wait 24 hours before I could catch the next episode. Worse of all, I can't find anywhere that I could possibly download it (I don't want to use BT, mine is super slow) since I only ever use mIRC and direct download. D-Addict had removed it for DL in their site coz the drama had been licensed. I guess another choice would be Club box but I don't find it really reliable. Plus the fact I need to do some adjustment to my settings worries me... So there's a slim chance I'll rely on that. Therefore the last resort is to... catch it everyday which meant I won't be going out at night on weekdays +__+ Saturdays and Sundays feels unreaonably long during times like these ... Sigh.

Right, now I'll go back to downloading my HanaKimi and watching Gokusen 2. If anyone knows of any site/ IRC channel that provides Japanese or Korean drama for download (apart from SARS-Fansubs), lemme knoooooow!!!

Another dose of Gokusen

My Supre Lip Gloss:

That's the one I wanted~

the code is: 03 Vanilla & Cocoa; DOUBLE ENDED LIP GLOSS, 6ml.

I bought it at the Supre shop at City, and their house-brand cosmetics are located near the counter. You'll see a shelf there :) I went back there 1 week before flying back but this flavour finished its stock ;____; ... so Mei Theng, if you happen to go Perth City and pass by there, please please pretty please help me check whether they have it or not :D arigato!!!

Didn't I mentioned previously that there wasn't enough Gokusen? I downloaded the manga, till the recent chapter :D... the first 2-3 volumes are basically the repeat of what is in the anime. Even so, there were some differences in comparison. For example, Fuji (the tosa dog) appeared since the first epi (in the anime) but in the manga, he only appeared in volume 8 (or was it 7...?). Anyway it's all good hahahahaha!

Kumiko experienced changes in art. From volume 1, till volume 9. As of above, from left, Kumiko in vol 1, volume 4, volume 6 and lastly volume 9.

Kumiko's character in the anime is consistent therefore there were no problem with it.

Shin's character, on the other hand I believe undergo a tremendous evolution of art. It's similiar to Kumiko's positive changes, as he looked rather different in every volume. Even so, if you compare to how he looked in vol 1 and the latest vol 9, the changes had been too obvious!!!

From left to right, top to bottom: Shin in the first volume of manga, volume 2, volume 4, volume 5, volume 7, and last but not least from volume 9.

Morimoto-sensei's art became more refine in later volumes, as her sketching and drawing improved. The Shin in anime is indeed goodlooking, which was why I was shocked when I first read the first volume of the manga.

In the anime, the art was consistent therefore there's nothing to complain about LOL.

Hahahahahahaha well above is one of the scenes now shown in the anime. As a matter of fact the whole chapter wasn't produced in the animation. Shinohara-sensei was sick (or was it he got hurt? forgot...) and since he lived alone, Wakamatsu insisted that sensei should stay behind in their group, to which Shinohara couldn't decline. Kumiko winked happily to Wakamatsu who winked back and went off. Then Tetsu came to announce that sensei's room is ready (and that the room assigned to Shinohara was one of the smaller ones in their residence). Kumiko was angry and pulled Wakamatsu, who whispered softly to his ojou: "I thought that room was nearer since its just beside ojou's room..." Kumiko then released Tetsu and patted him on his back, followed by a thumbs up and an evil smile.

And then her two underlings suggested that they'd help Kumiko to "take care" of him and so that she could have some "fun" with him LOL. The image above appreared in Kumiko's head and she hit them. No wonder its the yakuza hahahahaha!

Another one of the funny part that wasn't shown in the anime was that in volume 4, Shin saved Kyou who was fighting on the street. Kyou then said he's repay him back and brought Shin with him to underground gambling and introduced Shin as his "brother" (not blood brother in this case, but brother as seen in the yakuza organization), with the nickname: Young Master Red Lion, much to Shin's dismay. He thought the name was lame but the others were in awed. Kyou lost most of his money and before long Shin grasp the nature of the game and took over. He had a winning streak and turned the tables for Kyou. Everyone was astounded by his "skills" and was sure that he'd be their boss someday (LOL).

Next Kyou brought him to a brothel. He picked the woman for Shin (the worse one out of the last two choice) but Shin ran off. Kyou then make Shin came along for their last destination, the hostess's club and two ladies sat down with Shin. Not long after that, Shin was drunk and dozed off. Sayuri-san then came out and was surprised to see Shin there. She then warned the two hostess on what they teach the young man because he's ojou's student. Next thing we see is that Kumiki woke up to see Shin sleeping in her living room. Shin mumbled something bout, "Please... no... don't rub ... not there..." to which an angry Kumiki shook him and said, "OH! "THERE" huh! WHERE IS YOUR "THERE!? HUH!? BRAT!"

In Vol 6, a new character came to light. His name is Inubou and he's also from the yakuza just like Kumiko. Inubou was transferred to Kumiko's class from his previous school due to some problems. They soon found out. Inubou though possesses a cute face (to which Fujiyama tried to trade by offering 4 of her class's boys), he'd turned into a scary when he's frightened or felt threatened.

In volume 8, one of the funniest volume among all, Noda casually asked Shin something due to his curiosity as to whether Shin likes Kumiko. After a pause, he said "I think... probably..." and shocked the rest of his gang. Following up to his confession, the next day Ucchi came up with an "idea" to make Shin and Kumiko closer. They created a 'rumoured' ghost story and asked Kumiko to come along with them to investigate it. When they reached the filing room, the gang pushed her inside along with Shin and locked them there. Kumiko then said maybe they'd have to spend the night here. All of a sudden both of them felt the awkwardness, and asked each other to say something.

Next up in volume 8 we have a suspected stalker to be following Fujiyama. Her bra got stolen and she felt as though someone's always following her. Kumiko then took the initiave to help Fujiyama and made everyone to join in. They were to escort Fujiyama home in pairs (well I don't see the point since they move in line of twos). Noda was saying that through her clothes, its obvious that Kumiko's a teacher and that she needed to change so that she and Shin can act as lovers (?) LOL. She complied and changed into a school student's uniform. I love the part where Shin saw her and then fell off his chair. He's always someone with composure and to see him act like that is simply priceless!!! Shin did not gave his opinion but I wonder what he really thinks of Kumiko in uniform? He should at least blush a little LOL

Then, still in volume 8 we have the festival. Shin went to Kumiko's house to return Fuji (who frequented his place). He was shocked by the scene of all the men dressed in Fundoshi. When Kyou asked Shin to dress like them, he declined. He was then struck by nother surprise when Shinohara appeared in fundoshi. Kyou then exclaimed that Shinohara is the "Festival Lawyer" and Shinohara replied that in the Kuroda family, whoever doesn't participate in the festival isn't a man. Kyou then slapped the fundoshi on Shin invitingly. Shin have no idea what came into him as he appeared in fundoshi after changing. Kumiko and his grandfather came out. When she saw Shin in fundoshi, she was totally enraptured and entranced by him.

When Kyou asked Shin to join in the competition in which the one who managed to snatch the ball is the winner, again Shin declined. But when Kyou said, "Ojou said whoever got the ball is the manliest of all." and the fact that last year Shinohara was the winner, it successfully provoked Shin into going for it.

The brawl continued and Shin hung onto Shinohara tightly to avoid him from getting the ball. The funny part was that Kumiko couldn't stand watching the the mess and asked someone to get her a fundoshi! However while everyone were busy fighting among each other, someone reached for the ball and grabbed it. Much to the dismay of the audiences, they shouted discouraging words and insult to the winner because they were cheering for Shin and Shinohara. LOL so most of them didn't think the winner deserved it and no one could bother with him at all... poor thing... though he won, I believe he didn't felt like a winner hahahahahaha

Unbelievably true, Shirokin High School might be starting its plan to organiza a co-ed school. When middle schooler girls from other schools were invited to Shirokin for an open day, the boys were behaving incredibly well. As a matter to fact, they looked so well-groomed that they don't even look like delinquents! Even Kumiko couldn't recognize Ucchi (and truthfully speaking, except for Kuma I don't think I'll be able to recognize ANY of them)!!!

K, till then... I'll be talking about something else :D ... I think that's enough of Gokusen for a while now!

Jay Chow? K?

Another peaceful day...? Well, I have been rotting at home anyway. Nothing much... Wait, I found something interesting the other day and I wanna share it here :D

I believe that by now there's few people who doesn't know about Jay Chow. Even the Malays adored him so I guess he's THAT popular LOL. K, no offense people... Anyway, have to admit though he isn't good looking, his songs re really good. I like talented artists, not only those who can sing but also compose their own songs. They are rare gems in the entertainment industry :D

But you know, the other day I was surfing the net with nothing to do. And then I decided to search for some lyrics... though the j-lyrics have most of the stuffs, they do tend to miss out some of it though which brought me to cherryblossom lyrics page. They are so complete that I wonder what they don't have. Anyway, thing is, I came across the gallery page in the site and just went in for fun. Then I saw that they have a gallery of the artist K and since I listen to his songs, I wonder how he looks like for curiosity sake.

Lo and behold! He looks like Jay Chow!!! I was so surprised when I saw the pix! Well, they are not exactly laike but hey, you can't say they don't! Perhaps from certain angle K looks more like him... Even so, K has softer features and *hem* more looking. Riiiiiiight, don't flame me for this. Merely stating my own opinion :D

Above: Jay Chow
Below: K

By the way, if you wonder who K is, he's actually a singer. I was shocked when I check his profile. You see, he's actually the artist who sang "Only Human" which was the ending song of [1 Litre of Tears]. Therefore it is only natural to assume he's a Japanese. But his profile shows otherwise. Here's what I found:

Real Name: Kang Yoon-Sung

Date of Birth: 16th November 1983 (1 year older than me!)

Birth Place: Goyang, South Korea

Facts: After the failure of his first album in Korea in 2004, K crossed over to Japan and made his name there. His first Japanese album, Beyond the Sea has achieved a sales of over 300 000 copies. K had released 2 Korean albums, one in 2004 and another in 2006. He had recorded 2 Japanese albums and 1 cover album. He had also released 9 Japanese Singles between year 2005 to 2007.

I like K's voice and now, definitely his features :D I like his determination... Even though he wasn't popular in Korea, he continued on with his dream of becoming an artist through a different route. It was good that the Japanese accepted him and his talent. He sang so well that I had no doubt he was a Japanese at first...

It might not be right to say that he's MINE but I don't really care at this point =3 He's really cuuuuuute and the cross culture with Korea and Japan had been a great discovery!

I'm K's FOREVER! ...or otherwise... I'm fine with it either way XD
