Totally FRUSTRATED with IRRESPONSIBLE CAR AGENTS!!!

Bought my car (MyVi) from a local car dealer. The service was okay, the agent gave me some free stuffs and what not which comes with the car, including the RM400 tint. I accepted it and made a booking, paying RM500. She promised me the car in early January - meaning waiting time is only 1 month. Times comes mid December, when I called her-she told me in the middle of January. I went like, "alright..." but wasn't happy about it.

Then in the early week of January I called again to enquire the status of my car, to which she said NOW, have to wait until END OF JANUARY. Fine, I said. But on the 3rd week of January, I called and ask for my car, she said - beginning of February. There were excuses on the line which I think, she had used for more than hundreds of times that she could actually recite them in her dreams. I accepted it once again, seeing there's no alternative but to wait. THEN, she dared to call me at the end of January and asked me whether I want to take the premium version - as it arrives first, which of course *rolls eye* more expensive. She must have sensed my urgency of getting the car because when I refused the offer, she said, "Oh, if that's the case then your car will most probably arrive after CNY." I ask you, bengang or not? Sure bengang right?

Fine, in the end I got my car on CNY eve. But it was pretty rush so we just took the car and left. We drove it home, and next thing we knew when we tore the back seat's plastic - there's 9 blade-induced-cut on the left seat. Because it was during CNY, I did not contact them since we wer epretty busy ourselves. But when I finally managed to contact the agent, she said she will arrange time to meet so that she can see the condition of the damaged car seat; however there's no warranty for car seats. I was angry. How come I wasn't briefed on this fact? I thought the whole car is being warranted? And I did not induce the cuts, so heck, must I live with the damage I did not do?

She gave me many excuses and dragged the matter for about a week. When I finally managed to get through to her, she said a discussion was held with her boss and their decision was that because I signed the DO, they cannot do anything. Good Lord, what is this? Cannot or won't? Indeed, I got angry but before I could say more, she already slammed the phone. Rude, ain't it? Never seen someone as rude as that, gosh.

I drove right to their office after that. Since she wasn't there, I complaint to another staff - one of her colleague. He told me that he will report the matter to his boss. At the same night, the guy called me and said his boss is willing to change the COVER of my damaged seat.

On Saturday I went to their office again but unfortunately the manager wasn't there. But the male staff whom I spoke to previously was there. I said I wanted to talk to his manager and he called him up. The phone was the passed to me. I spoke to the manager and he highlighted, "because you signed the DO"... You see, if I saw the damage/ cut with my own eyes before I sign the DO and then said, "It's ok" and sign it, THEN I am at fault. But according to the law, if you sign an agreement without understanding/ knowing that there are defects (plus the fact we weren't informed properly of what is being warranted and what is not), then you are NOT liable, the other party is. Come on, I didn't attend my law classes for nothing. We couldn't finish the long-winded talk on the phone, so I made an appointment with him this coming Monday so we could face-to-face and to show him the ugly damage that they are being so irresponsible for.

Even if you buy a can of expired milk, you can always go back to the shop and exhange for a new one. We consumers are protected by the consumerism law. Fight for your rights and NEVER EVER let these irresponsible parties off the hook easily.
